Choosing the correct bay window fittings
Buy a compatible system rather than a collection of parts that happen to look similar.
Track components
Check whether the kit includes brackets, gliders and end stops. Match spare gliders and hooks to the exact track profile. Ask about curtain weight, allowed bends and whether a joining piece is approved for your layout.
Pole components
Confirm pole diameter, corner connectors, passing rings and passing brackets work together. Check whether curtains can travel past every support you intend to cross. Decorative finials need clearance beyond the curtain run.
Fixings and measuring tools
A metal tape, pencil and level help you record and mark the installation. Choose anchors for the actual substrate; included wall plugs are not a guarantee of suitability. Do not drill into a frame without checking its construction and warranty.
Roller and Venetian blinds
Confirm each headrail’s depth, handle clearance, control side and finished-drop method. Use the chosen supplier’s bay instructions and install the child-safety components. A measured section is not automatically a blind order width.
Shopping with your plan
Take the labelled sketch, measurement basis, mounting preference, obstruction projection and desired drop. Ask the supplier to confirm all unresolved dimensions before buying. Our linked products and guides are research starting points; we do not verify your wall, load or individual installation.
