Bay window curtain fitting guide

Get the geometry, support and curtain movement agreed before cutting or drilling.

Check the system instructions

Confirm ceiling or wall fixing is supported by the selected product. Follow its bracket layout, cutting sequence and bending instructions. Swish and Silent Gliss systems have different components and installation methods; a rule from one system is not a universal allowance.

Confirm the surface

Identify whether you are fixing into timber, masonry, plasterboard or another construction. Select suitable screws and anchors for that substrate and the expected load. Check for concealed services before drilling. An uncertain surface needs competent assessment.

Trial the position

Offer up the proposed line and check window opening, vent access and curtain clearance. Mark supports according to the product instructions, including around bends. Check alignment with a level and use suitable access equipment.

Finish and check movement

Fit compatible gliders, stops and hooks as instructed, then check the curtains move smoothly through the whole intended route. Avoid forcing a bend or connector beyond its specified range. For blinds, install all supplied child-safety components exactly as instructed.
